Reinforcing Green Space with Purpose

Grassrings, Beauxfort’s grass parking grid and reinforcement system, is designed to stabilise grassed areas where occasional vehicle access is required, while also increasing parking capacity without extending hardstanding. The circular open grid structure sits discreetly beneath the surface, distributing weight evenly across the rings and protecting grass roots from compaction. The result is a strengthened, permeable surface that retains the natural appearance of lawn or landscaped ground.

Ideally suited to overflow car parks, event spaces and emergency access routes this grass parking grid provides structural support without introducing hard surfacing into green environments. It is intended for areas that are used periodically rather than daily, ensuring grassed spaces remain both practical and visually uninterrupted.

Technical Specifications

Panel size - Grassrings panels are 500mm x 500mm, with a depth of 30mm. The diameter of each cell is 50mm. They are supplied to site as 1m2 tiles.

Pre-seed fertiliser - We recommend using pre-seed fertilisers of 10% nitrogen, 15% phosphate and 10% potassium.

Root zone - We recommend a root zone of 70% sand and 30% recycled compost mix (pH6.5-7.2).

Root zone mix - We recommend Barenbrug Green Velvet® Water Saver.

Recycled material - Grassrings panels are made from 100% recycled UV-stabilised HDPE.

Resists chemicals - Grassrings are practical and hard-wearing, and are resistant to chemical spills or leaks.

Colour - Grassrings are black, with other colours also available subject to lead times and minimum order quantities.

Load bearing capacity - When filled with the correct topsoil/growing medium, load bearing capacity is 350 tonnes per square metre.

How easy is it to lay Grassrings panels?

Grassrings is a modular grass protection system, and the 500mm2 mats are designed with a simple but firm clipping mechanism to join the panels together. This makes them landscape products that are straightforward to install, and that are suitable for both large and small applications.

How does the Grassrings system prevent the grass from being damaged by vehicle traffic?

Grassrings panels are laid on a stone sub-base, then backfilled with soil and grass seed. This method and the strength of the panels protects grass roots from being compacted by the weight of moving and parked vehicles. The landscape products’ open cell structure allows the roots to still get the air, moisture and nutrients they need to survive, creating a grassed area that isn’t in danger of long-term damage when used for temporary parking.

How do you look after a lawn or grassed area where Grassrings are installed?

Once Grassrings panels are installed and the ground seeded, the resulting grass can be treated like any other lawn, with watering and mowing as required. The Grassrings grass protection grids protect against tyre damage from vehicles or rutting caused by their weight, so no repair work is required to restore the lawn after it’s been used for temporary parking.
